Can you post of PM the full prepar3d.cfg that triggers the issue? It sounds like maybe it is not triggered on default settings.Strangely, the flickering started after I deleted the prepare.cfg and Prepare3D created a new one. I had created a backup of the previous cfg file and activated it again after the problem mentioned above. And the flickering was gone.

I did some testing on our AMD box and didn't see this issue. I thought maybe it was specific to some cards or drivers but maybe it is triggered by specific settings.

I appreciate your feedback.
Thank you also for your report that it does not happen with NVidia - obviously, if it happened there too, the topic would not state "AMD Radeon artifacts" :D
This is something that Lockheed Martin need to address. It happens regardless of aircraft (add-on or default) and it's been replicated / reproduced with steps, screenshots and videos.
LM need to get in touch with AMD - nothing much we can do on our end.

You are welcome.
My thought was you, as a developer, would have a better chance at getting a reply directly from AMD than the average forum member.

Re: P3Dv5.1 AMD Radeon Artifacts (White lines & Flickering)
Alas, I am not the developer of Prepar3D so I don't have access to source code for it - and that's where the problem lies. I am sure Rob McCarthy or Beau Willis will find ways to figure this out, but for that, they need to actually allocate developer time to the issue.
I understand that AMD card users are fewer than NVidia ones (by far) but this does not mean it should be an issue that should be ignored or avoided - it's been brought to their attention multiple times.

I'm another 6900XT user here with the same issue.
It's really spoiling my time with P3D and I only got it a week ago.

I built the PC to fly PMDG and Flight Sim Labs planes in P3D. It is actually literally the point of the machine.Martyson wrote: ↑Thu Dec 16, 2021 8:24 pmJust in case you did not see it LM has a 14 day refund policy:Jazzit wrote: ↑Thu Dec 16, 2021 8:15 pm I'm another 6900XT user here with the same issue.

Hi. Any news on a fix for this? Im experiencing the same issue, however I'm using a nvidia card.

Ant15 ,
I think you are the only one reporting this problem.
What are your system specs, OS version and Add-ons?
Do you have multiple displays?
Is your PC store purchased name brand or did you build your PC?

This problem has been ongoing since Lm introduced Volumetric clouds AA does not work properly and this has been the case for the last 3 version .I don't know when they are going to fix this very irritation issus . MfS had the same issue and got fixed in in month Lm need more time it seems .. But don't worry 90 % of P3d users have the same issus we just have to live with it or move to another sim.

Re: P3Dv5.1 AMD Radeon Artifacts (White lines & Flickering)
Of course it wasn't meant that way.
I find it annoying that it does little in the direction of AMD.
I'm currently interested in a 6900XT myself, but not sure what I'm reading here.
3080 12GB remains as an alternative... (currently I have RTX 2070 Super)
But I would like to have 6900XT this time because it has more power and consumes less power.
So the question is, are there still problems with AMD cards?
thx

Re: P3Dv5.1 AMD Radeon Artifacts (White lines & Flickering)
Yes, there are still problems with Radeon cards. And yes, they show little interest in fixing them. And yes, we will politely keep pushing them to be looking into those problems, especially since the problems manifest very clearly with the default aircraft without any add-ons.

Re: P3Dv5.1 AMD Radeon Artifacts (White lines & Flickering)
That's really too bad.
I find the AMD 6900XT to be a very good card, has lots of VRAM and consumes less power.
It's a pity that LM doesn't react to AMD problems.. Because it's currently the better card.
If there are really problems with AMD cards, I will probably have to get the RTX 3080 with 12GB.
Even if LM and P3D annoy me, I have no choice but to take a card that doesn't cause any problems.
Unfortunately I don't currently see any alternatives to P3D.
For MSFS this year there will be PMDG 737 and Airbus from Fenix.
Nevertheless, P3D will continue to be the TOP simulator.
MSFS will still be missing 747 and 777.
Fenix will certainly not have the quality of FSLabs.
So that I will stay in P3D for another 2 years..
So I guess I'll have to get an NVIDIA card because there are still problems with AMD cards
