"Fatal Error Occurred", SETTINGs Menu - FIXED8:44 pm | January 28, 2012

No trouble, Guys :D I understood where the issue comes from. Not really fixed, but in some way I overcame it, then making me able to have an idea of PP3D. Who are interested pls let me know Cheers, roberto I-RAZZ

Quote from I-RAZZ on January 25, 2012, 19:53 Hi guys, just took 30-days license, downloaded and activated. Everything by strictly following instructions, especially for "run as admimistrator" issue. Simulator just starts up at MINIMUM settings on EVERYTHING (included FPS limited to 10) :( When I try to modify ANY of the whole set of parameters, like graphics complexity, pause on application switch or even resolution, etc etc ... after APPLY button, pc freezes for awhile and eventually produces "Fatal Error Occurred, Win tries ... blah blah" diagnostics and PP3D re-starts automatically with the very same identical MINIMUM settings :x Win 7 Ultimate, i7-950 3.02 GHz, 6 GB RAM, nVidia GTX 580 Can anyone help me? I apologize if the issue has been already posted, but "as such" I've been unable to find here. Thx in advance I-RAZZ roberto

Re: Default ACs cannot be moved resp. deleted11:45 am | January 28, 2012

off the top of my head it looks like its running setup again - have you tried doing the delete then clicking the Prepar3D.exe in the P3D dirctory?

Non-unicode support in future6:05 am | January 28, 2012

I'm wondering if it is possible to consider change certain symbol to avoid the non-unicode setting of the OS. I need to set my system non-unicode to Chinese, this is my native tongue, however it results in the question mark on the position display, like the screenshot below. Image I know this doesn't cause any trouble so far, since I ran FSX without any issue for the past few years. However I would be delighted if the developer can take this into account in the future development. Right now, for the MS FLIGHT, the non-unicode is causing trouble. Some missions can't start due to the setting of non-unicode. I know P3D is a totally different platform, so, just take my words as a reminder. PS: I know there are apps like Microsft app location, but if multiply DLL module need to be loaded, e,g FSUIPC, it is not going to work. Therefore I assume that with the growing of P3D it is likely to be not functioning in the future. With regards Yufeng

Re: Possible Bug when resetting control defaults3:29 am | January 28, 2012

Hi again Adam, No trouble, happy to find these sorts of things. I do dedciate quite a bit of time adding mods and testing them (one at a time of course). Anyway, What I have installed is Saitek Pro Flight Yoke system and rudder pedals, Throttle quadrant, and Saitek Multi panel for auto flight. Now because there is no dll.xml file by default i had to add it and also add the configuration for FSUIPC which is in addition to the Saitekpanels.exe file I needed to add to the exe.xml file. So what ever was happening during the crash I suspect these changes regarding these addons may be to blame. I did hang around in the controls menu for a little while, say, 5 minutes while I was looking through all the assignments and before I clicked reset defaults. Hope this helps. PS. I had another crash when loading p3d up again after this crash, referenced here: http://www.prepar3d.com/forum-5/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=709
