No snowfall on P3D v5.1 hf1
No visible snowfall in P3D v5.1 hf1 according to METAR CYCA 242121Z AUTO 34032G49KT 1/2SM SN VV010 M03/M04 A2907 RMK SLP852 when EA is on. When EA was OFF everything was fine.

I got snow in P3D very easily just by flying into Iceland the other day both in EA mode and non EA mode.... for some reason I cant post the pics but they can be found on this FB group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1651114981849054

As for me: no snow, too, when EA is ON. So far everywhere I went into snow.
Snow is displayed immediately when EA is switched OFF and is disappearing when switching EA ON again..
E.g. today at KCMX (292025 ... +SN ...).
P3D V5.1 HF1, ASP3D, OrbX (but no US airports), F1 Cessna Mustang
But I‘d really like to point out: P3D V5 is an excellent serious training tool and a really stable sim!
No CTDs so far.
Love it!

I also have noticed not seeing the actual snow fall in 5.1 HF1 with EA on

Re: No snowfall on P3D v5.1 hf1
I have the issue right now too. It's a bit disappointing to have EA come out of beta in this state, but it still progresses none the less. Is this a known issue with no precip in v5.1HF1 or am I doing something wrong? I have not attempted a content reinstall yet (fresh install of 5.1, client update only for 5.1hf1) but will do it in the next day or two. Non-EA mode has no issues for rain or snow. EA on shows no precip at all.AndiKunzi wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 9:00 pm As for me: no snow, too, when EA is ON. So far everywhere I went into snow.

I am also having the same issue. With EA off, I get precipitation (snow & rain).
With EA turned on, no snow or rain.
Will there be a hotfix for this in the near future?

Re: No snowfall on P3D v5.1 hf1
Since deleting the generated files and reinstalling all OrbX sceneries (necessary, since they got corrupted), I‘ve got rain and snow now.

I noticed with EA off on a clear night you can see the Milky Way galaxy but with the same conditions and EA turned on the Milky Way galaxy disappears.

@ Joseph500 ,
This topic is about snowfall?

Re: No snowfall on P3D v5.1 hf1
I mentioned the Milk Way because others have said that snowfall appears with EA off. And the Milky Way also only appears with EA off. So that is another thing that is affect with EA on.
Re: No snowfall on P3D v5.1 hf1
EA mode selected puts a haze layer into the display which is unrealistic and prevents various objects being viewed. When EA mode is on a METAR report, reporting visibility of 10 miles looks more like 3 miles with the sky obscured.
I have seen snow on another users display whilst EA mode was on and it looked unreal but with EA mode off all OK.
Various users have attempted modifications to configuration files in an attempt to correct and improve the situation with little success. In my opinion, if the solution was as simple as editing configuration files the LM developers would have done this already and issued instructions or another release. In my opinion, the problem appears to be embedded in "TrueSky" and how it has been implemented within P3D, it is surprising that "TrueSky" was released from beta in this condition.
Other users have stated that EA mode can be turned off if do not like it, however, it is a pity to have to turn off a mode within the simulator because it does not work correctly in contrast of turning off a mode by choice

I think EA makes it really faint -- when I have rain or snow in sim if I look really really closely in the right light you I faintly see the rain or snow. It's just so faint you don't normally see it.

Re: No snowfall on P3D v5.1 hf1
Same here.
Whatever EA is doing its making the raindrops so tiny that they are for all effective purposes invisible.
As for snow i dont think i have ever even seen it yet.
There is something broken in EA with precipitation and complete silence from LM..
If lack of precipitation in a sim isnt the biggest issue in the environment issue section im not sure what is..

Re: No snowfall on P3D v5.1 hf1
Actually I do have rain and snow and also have seen it in action.
BUT
The raindrops are very small and almost not noticeable.
Snow is even smaller as rain! So small that it seems like "the first very light snowfall" typically seen when it just starts to snow very very less!
Location was at EDDF with ASP3D 2 days ago. I don´t have the time of the day anymore.
But I could only see it outside the plane (outside view) and looking at "darker" surfaces with some distance between me (the camera position) and the darker surface (distance was round about A321 length).
So actually snow and rain is shown, but my whish is it becomes more noticeable depending on the "rate" of rain and snow.
Minor, normal, major rain/snowfall with reduction off the visibility.
