prepar3D not responding

Post by pianomom5 »

I downloaded and installed the prepar 3D program. when I open the icon on the screen it opens to the front page but then acts as if it is frozen and eventually says Prepar3D is not responding. I have tried it many times and it always does the same thing. I also uninstalled and reinstalled it and it still does the same thing. What could I do to fix this?

@ pianomom5 ,

Could this be your problem?
Nvidia driver issue:

LM is working with Nvidia on the 465.89 driver issue and recommends staying on the previous 461.92 driver in the meantime.

Here is an information post / link:

So I read those links but still couldn't figure out what I should do about it. I dont know much about computer programs besides clicking on the install and download buttons. Could I get more detailed information somewhere on exactly what to do?

@ pianomom5 ,

Right-mouse click on your desktop

Select NVIDIA Control Panel

Select Help

System Information

The driver version is listed there.

Look in the Windows Event Viewer and get the
Faulting Module Name

@ pianomom5 ,

Then you do not have Nvidia.

Have you used Flight Sims before this one?

What kind of a computer do you have?

What are your PC specs?

@ pianomom5 ,

Your PC specs are less than required.

what part of the computer doesnt meet the requirements? I looked at the chart would it be the ghz part or is it more than just that? I could look at a different computer I have also. but most of it was similar. Also would it be possible to use the v4 or v3 instead if I could get them?

The problem is here:

intell HD graphics 530

This graphics adapter is way below the minimum required for any P3D version. Your best bet for a flight simulator is FSX:SE.

Apart from the graphics adapter, P3D requires a 3 GHz CPU as minimum.

You'll find the complete system requirements here:

@ pianomom5 ,

Yes , you may be able to use another PC.
Just post here the specs you have for the other PC.
Maybe another family member or friend could also assist with the requirements / specs. data.
