[RESOLVED] P3DV5 and trackir

Hi

Does trackir 5 function with P3Dv5? I can not get it to work.

I have tried installing simconnect redist packages (FSX SP2-Xpack and FSX SP1) as suggested in a post about P3DV4. I am running both Trackir and P3D as adminitrator.

It works fine with V4 and other games, so the hardware is all working.

One more thing that you should check. You can't have the TrackIR exe and the P3d exe running with different permissions. If one is set to run as admin, the other must be run that way also. This has been observed for many versions of P3d.

Did you install P3Dv5 SDK? It is required for it to work I think… Also try to launch it TrackIR before the game. If done afterwards it may not detect game. You can launch it and close it automatically via FSUIPC adding this at the end of FSUIPC.ini:

I have it running fine with this:
- P3D as admin
- TrackIR as normal user (not relevant indeed)
- P3Dv5 SDK installed
- XPack Simconnect installed (cause its required by other addons)

I could not get it to pick up in the sim itself. I use chaseplane and it works flawlessly in connection with track ir which was my work around.

I have installed SDK, run Trackir first, and both in admin. Still can not get it to work. I am guessing it is something to do with simconnect.

I ran the installers for FSX-SP2-Xpack, then FSX-SP2 by duble clicking msi. Just briefly flashed, but not much else. Not sure how to confirm what is needed is there for P3D V5.

FWIW, I had no issues at all with TrackIR in v5. I came from a P3D v4.5 install. Uninstalled v4.5 (client/scenery/content) and installed v5 in the same folder. TrackIR worked right away as it did in v4.5.

Still have 4.5 installed. May be the issue? Anybody got it working out the box with 4.5 still installed?

Don't want to unistall 4.5 just yet.

Solved. EZDOK, which is not yet updated for V5, renames trackir manifest files so it does not recognise p3d starting. Change them back and it now works.

If anyone else has the issue, in naturalpoint trackir5 program folder change

simconnect.manifest1 to simconect.manifest
simconnectsp2.manifest1 to simconnectsp2.manifest
