Panning in Cockpit View

Post by Still Tryin' in MI »

I've got Prepar3d v3 running on windows 7. When in cockpit view, panning moves at a pace that makes snails look like "speed demons." Panning outside the cockpit is unaffected. I use FSUIPC. Whether it's abled/disabled makes no difference. I've tried various settings in FSUIPC, to no avail. I've tried running a repair installation proceedure, without effect. Can anyone tell me what's going on and suggest a fix ? My FSX install had the same problem, before it crashed and burned.

FSUIPC shound not have a bearing on this, rather your graphics adapter.

What are your systems specs here?

First, Thanks for the reply

I have an AMD FX6300 6-core processor (3.5 gHz), a GeForce GTX750 graphics card, Xonar DSX sound card & 16 gb of ram. I don't over-clock. I use a Thrustmaster HOTAS & rudder pedals.
I did have Chase Plane & TrackIR, but removed both when my system proved too slow to handle them. I didn't notice at the time, but I think that's when my problems started. I thought I'd removed both completely.

I hope this is all the info needed. Let me know if any more is required.

If the issue was already there in FSX with the same hardware, chances are it would get progressively worse with each version of P3D, as the hardware system requirements get more and more serious with each new version.

But there just also might be "something else" slowing this down, if your system in your general use is reasonably fast.

TrackIR, as far as I know, is related to VR, and VR in general is really demanding on your hardware. I don't believe that is the case with ChasePlane, but I have never had any of the two installed. Other users might have some ideas here.

What version of P3D do you have?

You previously mentioned:

"I've got Prepar3d v3 running on windows 7."

“I did have Chase Plane & TrackIR, but removed both when my system proved too slow to handle them. I didn't notice at the time, but I think that's when my problems started. I thought I'd removed both completely.”

I no longer have Win7 and P3Dv3 installed but I may be able to help with your problem.

Locate your cameras.cfg file.

Note: My Cameras.cfg is located inside this path/folder C:\Users\MynameHere\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4

Copy and paste the contents of your cameras.cfg here so I can review it.

Note:

I currently have WIN11, TrackIr, FSUIPC (to assign the Yoke Hat Switch to Panning), P3D4, P3D5, P3D6 (Personal) and Chaseplane installed.
