Would it be possible to create a "right-hand drive" model for us poor Brits?

Hi!

First of all, thank you for the nice comments and for the feedback :-)

I have to fit in there unfortunately, George. Maybe you can get used to the left sitting position ;-)

But for information!

Both versions have been completed on schedule. The FSX version and the P3Dv4.5 version can now be downloaded from the Bahrometrix download page. Once again a very special thank you to Rob and Manfred. The project would not have been possible without them!

Download: http://www.bahrometrix.de/downloads/

A quick start reference is included in the Doc folder (Quickstart Reference.pdf) to make it easier to get started with Chevrolet controls.

Re: Chevrolet Suburban WIP

Post by Blaunarwal »

Hi

I had some problems with the Car, v. 1.0

First installation, the front doors did not close, opened again after clicking the door handle. I reinstalled it and the the doors were closed at start and I could open/close without problems.

Then next problem to drive. Engine runs and gear is on D. But the car didn't move, just engine rpm goes up. Suddenly the car drove but next the steering failed. Always the wheels turn back into straight forward position. As if an autopilot was on changing the direction against my joystick inputs.

Any hints?

Regards

Dan

Without precise information about which flight simulator version is used it is difficult to help. But maybe you applied the parking brake (left foot pedal) ;-)

In the meantime an Update v1.01 has been released: http://www.bahrometrix.de/downloads/chevrolet-suburban/

Changes
– Corrupt XML file exchanged
– 3-D model revised
– Quickstart Reference revised

I wish everyone a happy holiday and a good start to the new year!

Christian, were on the Prepar3D not FSX forum ;-). Did you ever try the car in P3D4.5 HF2?

Yes the parking was released. I can read the manual and also drive cars in the real world. But this would not explain the steering beein neutralized all the time so one can only drive straight.

New version 1.01, new behavior. Applying brake, starting engine, I can´t switch gears. Steering works now. Shutting engine, the gear lever works. Starting engine, gear lever is blocked. No difference, if brake is set or not.
Now also pushing the stick forward or back does not have an effect. Stick works well with aircraft. Now I try to start the sim with default flight, changing then to the Chevrolet and test.

Negative, starting the default aircraft and flight did not bring a change.

This meant the P3Dv4 version. There are some versions: V4.0, 4.3 etc. The Chevrolet was developed on a current P3Dv4.5.

Well, if it doesn't work for you, then take the Porsche Carrera GT from the Bahrometrix Jena City package. The car is an optical eye-catcher. Or, because the Porsche is not for you, then the Jena City package also includes bicycle avatars. They are also a lot of fun :-)

A user recorded a video about the Chevrolet on St Maarten, looks pretty good:

Of course, that was just made up!
Do you have any other 3-D models? Then maybe you could do other projects for the P3Dv4 together.

A Happy New Year to you all :)

My Suburban doesn't move either. Version is P3D v4.5HF2.

Steering, gear shifting, lights, doors etc. do work, engine revs up and tires squeak briefly when stepping on the gas pedal, impressive smoke effect (eat your heart out, Greta). Parking brake is released.

Driving a Porsche is not an option.

No, I can't help you there :-)
There was a problem with driving at high altitudes - the engine stopped after a few seconds. But the fact that the Chevrolet is not driving cannot be explained.

Maybe an axis of a joystick is disturbing?
