V5.2 HF1 not responding and stutters during flight
V5.2 HF1 not responding and stutters during flight
hello
I have recently started having a strange problem with my Prepar3D v5.2 Hotfix 1 .
On the ground i can prepare my plane for the flight, taxi to the runway and do the take off. after about 15 - 20 minutes of flying the simulator starts to falter and stops every 4-5 seconds for several seconds... this takes a very long time and often ends with a ctd.
delete generated files i have done.
win10 is up to date
graphic driver (RTX3080Ti) is up to date
all drivers are up to date
does anyone know this problem?
regards

To try to isolate what is causing the CTD
Look in the Windows Event Viewer and get the
Faulting Module Name
example:

Reto,
We have that you have a RTX3080TI graphics card, what are the rest of your system specifications?

@ rschmidli,
Reto
What was the Faulting Module Name (a question I previously asked)?
How many monitors in your setup?
Are you using freeware or payware AI Traffic?

Re: V5.2 HF1 not responding and stutters during flight
please excuse my late reply.
unfortunately, i had not read out the error message and the error did not occur again until now. as soon as the problem occurs again i will check the event log.
that's very funny.
the problem occurs 3-4 times in a row and now I have since 2 days rest from it...

Look back in the Event Viewer log for your previous CTD entries and get the Faulting Module Name from those crashes.
Note:
The Event Viewer log goes back many previous days.

Re: V5.2 HF1 not responding and stutters during flight
hi
after about 20 flights without problems, the problem now appears again out of the blue.
no error message, just strong jerks which occasionally end in the ctd

Re: V5.2 HF1 not responding and stutters during flight
If your CPU is running at the stock clock rate of 3.4 GHz, then you have a bottleneck right there.
The number of cores does not matter in this picture, what matters is raw CPU horsepower, as measured in clock rate.
You should think seriously about overclocking this CPU.
Whether you overclock or not, you should also do the following:
Go here: https://www.prepar3d.com/SDKv4/prepar3d ... ation.html
and modify your prepar3d.cfg as necessary.
For calculating the value for AffinityMask, go here: https://www.gfsg.co.uk/affinitymask.asp ... m=utilties
