Hi,
I try to choose Ultra graphics, but it ignores my selection and reverts to High.
I believe my spec is strong enough, I have an i7-8700K CPU, nVidia GTX 1080, 32 GB RAM and plenty of space on my SSD. Windows 7.
Sometimes, when I change the graphics settings, it even reverts to medium.
occasionally, I do succeed to set the ultra settings, but after I restart the game, it falls back to the high settings again.
Any Idea ?
Thanks,
Doron.

Re: Ultra graphics not working
Hello Doron
This Issue was fixed in Prepar3D v4 Hot fix 1 (4.0.28.21686)
Fixed the Graphics Profile Name not syncing with the correct saved graphics settings
It is recommended to update Prepar3D v4 to the most recent version (v4.2) but you can also just apply this Client Hot Fix 1 if you want
Sign into your Prepar3D Account, Click the + Legacy Client Downloads (click to expand) to reveal the Client Installers
And you will notice (4.0.28.21686) at the bottom
Please see the link below to for a step by step guide to complete a Client update

Re: Ultra graphics not working
hi,
I have upgraded to version 4.2 (specifically 4.2.21.24048). And it seemed to work fine.
But now it happen again. The only thing I can think of I did was installing full ORBX scenery. Can this have anything to do with this issue ?
I also had to kill the P3D process once brutally (from the task manager). Maybe it corrupted some file on the way ?
Aside of this specific issue, everything works great.
Thanks,
Doron.

Re: Ultra graphics not working
Hello Doron
No, Installing Scenery will not give this effect.
What 3rd party Utility and Aircraft Add On's do you have Installed ?
------------
Regarding your original Issue, Try these 2 steps and then test Prepar3D
1) Ensure you set up Prepar3D to run as administrator
2) Delete these 2 files Prepar3D_Default.fxml \ Prepar3D_Default.wx, They will generate again when Prepar3D is launched next
This will not effect your 3rd party Add On's
Copy the Tex below and Paste it into your windows search bar and click on the result, this will bring you directly to the correct location
Delete both files then launch Prepar3D and test
