P3Dv5 doesn't open, just initial screen

Post by cirurgiao »

Have P3D5 in H drive running fine with paywares (sceneries & airplanes).
Installed others (don't know which sceneries) in groups of 2-3 according publisher and everytime run P3D5 to check sceneries and there was no trouble.
Now when clicking the desktop exe it opens the initial screen but doesn't run.

Didn't do anything else, everything was up-to-date

Uninstall paywares (sceneries & airplanes) one at a time according publisher.

After each Uninstall reboot your PC and test starting P3D.

Hi, Vaughan
Tks for answering
1) since it was working before maybe one of them is causing this?
2) if so, and since I don't know which caused this but installed 2-3 sceneries altogether, usually from the same publisher, could uninstall in decrease sequence (last one first off) for example, 2-3 installed, uninstall all or should uninstall each one alone?
3) for every uninstall do I need to reboot the pc?

You need to get your system back to where it was working.
You can pick which way is best for you.

I reboot the PC after any change.

Is your current problem part or extension of your post here?

Nope
I have 2 different issues.
1) Couldn't understand what was happening and it seems that as you wrote here it may be a scenery issue (which one I have no clue) and you clarified me that the best way was to uninstall one by one from last installation, verifying which caused this. (and it's a lot of work... -( )
2) the other was that I just couldn't do much thing in P3D5 Scenery Library as moving up and down scenery, editing its location inside P3D to activate scenery.
And since you really have been very very helpful to me (here and in many post and for this I thank you very very much) can you answer me a question: Posted a topic about uninstalling sceneries before uninstalling P3D but no one answered, Really I don't know if anyone has this kind of doubt.
So: Must I uninstall all sceneries BEFORE uninstalling P3D?.
Since I have P3Dv4 & P3Dv5 I decided to keep just P3D5 (why keep 2 P3D?) and I'm preparing to make I huge change but don't want to make a mistake that will give me a lot of trouble later...

You asked:
"Must I uninstall all sceneries BEFORE uninstalling P3D?."

You should check with each of your Add-on developers about Uninstalling and verify if their product is compatible with the new Sim Version.

If you do not know what to do then yes:
Uninstall all scenery / aircraft, Reboot PC, Install P3D, Reboot PC, test P3D, Reboot PC, Install one payware product, Reboot PC, test newly installed product, Reboot PC etc.
