Can't write to Effects folder

When attempting to install the 5.2 client, I get an error message that says it can't write to the effects folder and the install rolls back and shuts down. Is there something i need to be uninstalling? I have all of the TOGA products installed. I have disabled them but, do I need to uninstall them completely??
