Hi,
A very useful approach to this was posted on the OrbX support forum (https://orbxsystems.com/forum) by Nick Cooper. I have used this successfully several times (and it will work whether or not you have OrbX products). Look for the post in the support forum for PREPARD3D posted May 1 2020. It shows up on the first page of postings at present.

Yeah, this updates generate some confusion,

I look for information mostly to avoid mistakes and skip the full install option as long as i can, but may be more advanced and deep reasons might come up regarding this decision, por expl: 3rd party programs reliability....

Clearly in their update promo site, the statement is:

"To install the Prepar3D v5.2 Client, you must first uninstall the previous Prepar3D v5.0/v5.1 Client through Programs and Features in Windows Control Panel"

So, the correct procedure for now is just unistall client..... reinstall new 5.2 client and thats it. May be a more extensive installation advice can be available somewhere, a bit more wordiness to clarify possible questions...

Believe me, i know it, deeply ...

Because of that, and given my large list of addons and many many more reasons, i use to reconfirm before attempting an update. Is may be time for an autoupdate feature?
