Prepar3D does not open

Hello,

Here is my problem.

1- I bought the academic version of prepar3D, I installed it perfectly well and I even checked the installation instructions. ✔

2 - The license has no problem, it has been validated. ✔

3 - When opening the simulator, it remains open for a few seconds and switches off. X

All my drivers are up to date.

LM is working with Nvidia on the current drivers issue and recommends staying on the previous 461.92 driver in the meantime.

Hi I am having the CTD with v5.1.
O/S Windows10 pro 10.0.19042
CPU Intel i5-7600k @3.80ghs Driver V 465.89
Video Adapter Nvidia Geforce 1080 8gb DX V 12
M2 500gb for P3d
I have read and followed others who are having same problems.
1.So I have uninstalled P3d completely cleaned up the everything, checked on the drive and cleared out anything to do with P3d and used a registry cleaner so P3d did not appear anywhere.
2. Cleaned the registry.
3. Run from CMD checked disk.
4. On reinstallation switched of virus scanner McAfee when reinstalling.
5. I used the DDU to reinstall my Nvidia driver from 466.11 to 465.89.
Still no joy any suggestions please as it was all working ok when suddenly I started up yesterday and low and behold I got the CRASH TO DESKTOP I had not changed anything or done anything from the night before I am baffled I want to fly.

You need go to nVidia driver version 461.92.

Ok thanks Jorgen will give that a try read another post which said the next Nvidia release after 466.11 should cure the problem with CTD so fingers crossed.

Yep, the next one after 466.11 should fix it, but it has not been released yet by nVidia.

Hi Jorgen yes Nvidia driver 461.92 worked fine, thanks a lot never had that happen to me before.

I have just installed 466.11 - P3Dv5 will not open - I will try the older version 461.92 suggested above.

OK - all good now 461.92 is back. There is a wasted morning :-(

Believe me, a lot of us has wasted some time on this one.

Now we wait for nVidia to come up with an updated driver that works...
