Hello,
today i wanted to give v5 a try. But the installer always cries about having no space left.
The thing is, i put all paths from temp files to another drive than C but still the p3d installer is using C:Temp as temp location. Why is that?
I have 10 GB space left on drive C ... and nothing installed, its all clutter from usage. No vids, no programs, no nothing. So i cant delete anything. And 90GB free on H (where the temp folder is). And 110 GB free on F where i install P3D.
I even deleted the old win update files and that stuff. No luck.

Re: P3D install fails because too little space on C drive...
Ok i found how to install it. Just browse to the downloaded p3d v5 folder and run the files manually,
1. install_client.msi
2. install_content.msi
3. install_scenery.msi
That way it will install. I had 10 gb on C and could install this way.

Exactly the workaround I was looking for. Thanks for posting back your findings!
Works great, unlike some of the other “solutions” on this forum.
Would be nice if the C: drive wouldn’t be used during installation, but oh well…

Hi,
Same issue here and same solution:
https://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopi ... 2&t=143334
In this post, you will find the specification for installing P3D:
https://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopi ... 2&t=126570
See at the end of the page just before the IV) Manually Installing Prepar3D
"...For all other error codes like, 0x80070643, 0xfffffff7, 0x800705aa, 0x800713ec, 0x80070005
Do you have more them 13 gig of free hard drive space on your Operating system ?..."
But I agree with you. When all the temp variables are not on C:/, it would be nice if the new temp folder is used during installation.
Regards
Michel
