[RESOLVED] Can't upgrade from 4.2 to 4.3 ....... stuck on splash screen

Post by jlp60280 »

I uninstalled every addons (Orbx, Active sky) and deleted their respective folders.

I've deleted everything relative to P3D fom /user/appdata/local and roaming)
It was working fine in ver 4.2 .

When launching P3D, it stays on the splash screen. In the task manager , the service is running (0% processor , 19,8MB) memory
I've read the forum.
I've checked http://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic ... 2&t=123246

Processor: I7-3770K
Memory : 8 GB
Windows 10 Pro (activated and updated)
My graphic card is ok. (Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070)
My AV is desactivated

My hardware is OK

I did to unsuccesfull install...with the same result.

Plz HELP......

Hello,

Have you tried running through step 5 of the general debugging steps?

After spending lot of time...It works...

I had no "delete generated files" so no way...

1) I unstalled the 4.3 client
2) Installed The 4.2 client

Got error messages about Orbx scenry not found....clicked "Unload"

Start the 4.2...It worked...
Exit.
Now I have a "delete generated files"....click on it

Uninstall Rev 4.2
Install Rev 4.3....got an alert from windows defender (wich is deactived ????? windwos just doaes want to launch the msi file....Anyway...after some clisks..Rev 4.3 installed

Lauch P3D ....It works....

prior to installing , I did a clean deinstall of Orbx....But......some files were still somewere...do not ask ...

Anyway;;; It's solved...But I can't imaging someone doing the same thing without some computer knowlegde....
