Hello to all!
We have been with a friend trying to connect each other via the multiplayer part in P3D4.5
We did that online, not on a LAN network.
To host, I fixed my IP adress, and then forwarded the required ports. My firewall has also been set accordingly.
However, when I host the session, he can never see me online. Neither can I when he does the host on his side.
Is there something that I missed or a specific procedure to play together on 2 different PCs?
Multiplayer in 4.5
Re: Multiplayer in 4.5
Hi,
The ip address that you have set? My ip address is never set by me as I would have to pay for a static ip address.
Where are you setting this?
The ip address that should work for your friend is your ip address that is visable to the outside world if your hosting and likewise if your friend is hosting.
You maybe able to find your external ip address from your modem hub
Look up multiplayer in the learning centre.
regards
Steve

Re: Multiplayer in 4.5
Thank you for answering.
Actually, when I talk about fixing my IP adress, its my adress on local network, my intern IP adress (192.168.1.xx in my case), in order to redirect the open ports.
To my friend, I indeed give the actual IP adress, seen on internet.

Re: Multiplayer in 4.5
Run IPCONFIG in a DOS box and it wil display your IP Address.
Re: Multiplayer in 4.5
Hi Try ping each others ip address and see if you get a reply but it could be that as protection each others modem may not respond to the ping.
I could do a test with you over the weekend, where in the world are you?
I'm in UK and likely to be free in the afternoon.
My firewall has not had any changes to it so would be interesting test.
Ipconfig will only give you your internal ip address and it's better to run ipconfig /all

Hi!
We can ping each other's IP, no problem on that.
Maybe its a port problem.
I will be free next weekend, I will try to contact you by Pm
thank you for your help guys.

Hi,
I would assume firewall/ port forwarding problem still, I've never had p3d online so would be interesting.
I have sent you a PM.
