Thank you all for the input.
Your current P3D Account should not have P3Dv5.0 available for your last 3 downloads.
It should be the current 5.3.17.28160 product (P3D5.3HF2).

Geir,

To test if v. 5 works with your system, you absolutely must do the testing with the very latest version.

Since v. 5.0 there has been several updates to DX 12 inside P3D, that's why.

If there are problem with downloading, then send an email to:

licensing@prepar3d.com

Include the license information from your invoice, and explain the reason why you're sending the email.

Hello Geir Haukland ,

Just a quick follow up.

Because you have had problems with P3Dv5.0 I suggest checking the P3D product Checksum after your next full product download.
The checksum value is shown on your P3D Account download page.

Hello Geir Haukland,

This is rather strange. I've ran it on a 10+ year old computer, Win 10 Home, 16GB RAM, same version as you with an NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti with no issues other than not being able to move the map once I've clicked and dragged it. That card is only 4GB and generally runs fine unless I am flying in dense areas and then the usage gets a little high and the frame rate drops with aircraft that are PBR heavy.

As it's from the same stable I don't understand why you are having issues. I also don't understand why it's asking for DX11. The requirement is DX 12 for P3D.... something of a mystery.

Just to make sure, can you got to Start>Run type dxdiag, hit enter. At the bottom of the first summary page it should tell you what DX version you have.

As a possibility, and please don't take this the wrong way, but is there a chance the card could be counterfeit?

It say's DX 12 in my infowindow, but i have removed it. and will give it another try when i build a new computer with better gfx card, like a 3060 with 12 gb, but i have p3d v4.5.14.34698 installed, and i still can fly flawless, no issues there, same on this computer with a 9th gen intel i5 cpu, and same gfx card, and same ammount of 16gb DDR4 3200Mhz ram, and no issues here either. Only with v5. But i dont mind waiting to summertime, when the boys are releasing v6, then i am going to get that one unless my specs are to low :)

The only other thing I can think of is that there is some conflict with installing two versions on the same PC.

I'm upgrading to the RTX 3060 so I don't have to drop my settings when I fly to more dense areas. I'll let you know how it goes.

I've contemplated a new build but can't afford that yet, so taken the next best step.

There are no conflicts in having two versions, like v. 4.5 and v. 5.3, installed on one computer at the same time.

I had that, plus FSX, at one time, but it simply took up too much time keeping them all up to date.

The 3060 works just fine, I got one of those some months ago.

Geir,

Did you try with v. 5.3, or are you still on v. 5.0?

This is very important, as there have been updates to DX12 in P3D since v. 5.0.

Not only Windows and your graphics driver, but also P3D needs to be at the latest level.

UPDATE:

Change your refreshrate to 59Hz instead of 60 Hz, i just got help that solved it, p3d v5.x does not support 60 Hz yet, but p3d v4.5.xx does, so, i am still wondering why v5 does not support 60 Hz.
