With defaults of 2 and 5 I felt that increasing them to 60 was a bit extreme. My recommendation would be to increase them in increments until the DXGI error stops. The whole point of the settings is to keep the OS from crashing in the event a GPU call doesn't complete. You can try using the 60 settings but if you end up getting blue screens (or green screens with some versions of Windows 10) back them off to maybe 30.

The TDR registry additions do not work on my system, even at 60. I just get a new message saying "Application Prepar3D.exe has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware"
Re: DXGI ERROR RESET OR HUNG When changing views V5.1
Something I have tried today which looks like it has worked for me and may be of help to others:
If you still have the original installer for P3D v5.1 (NOT HF1)!!! Install this first.
2) run the sim to let it load shaders etc etc.
3) close sim and uninstall client
4) install P3D v5.1 hf1 CLIENT ONLY
this seems to have fixed the DXGI error for me based off of a few test flights. Still experimenting but early results look promising.
Will report back later.

I deleted the original 5.1 installer after I downloaded HF1 so I am stuck with the HF1 download.TomH101 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 12:24 am Something I have tried today which looks like it has worked for me and may be of help to others:

I have the original 5.0 installer but that had issues right out of the gate.
I wrote LM about earlier version access and they told me that they will not give me an earlier release. So my fault for deleting too soon.

With all do respect Jorgen, The problem began with P3Dv5.1HF1. For me everything was fine with P3Dv5.1. I also want to point out that I had this problem with P3Dv5 before P3Dv5.1 came out and was fixed with P3dv5.1JorgenSA wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 7:46 am I am sorry if the above reply sounds somewhat flippant, but there a 3 players in this game:
1. Microsoft (DX12)
2. Your friendly graphics card manufacturer (graphics card hardware and drivers)
3. Lockheed-Martin (application)
Not to mention:
4. The end user's system.....

so I would say it is likely a LM issue. Also, LM remaining silent on the issue isn't helping much. just say'n....
