Great find, Karl.

Another user has also found that, this is going to be the number 1 step to avoid this error in the future.

Karl
@ kaha ,

After you install P3Dv5.1HF1 leave it in a default state.
Do not change any Options settings.
No Add-on.
Nothing.
Just test it as is and report any problems in a new topic.

I use these guides and they work well:

Uninstalling/Deactivating Prepar3D:

Downloading and Installing Prepar3D ( be sure to check the downloaded ZIP file Checksum):

@ Jorgen ,

Who is the "other user" ?

Have you tested this find on your setup and verified the problem, ENABLE_BATHYMETRY on/off where On causes DXGI error ?

The "other user" is another user.

You could always check Bathymetrics out yourself, if you want to know.

"Have you tested this find on your setup and verified the problem, ENABLE_BATHYMETRY on/off where On causes DXGI error ?"

Well, what do you think? Do you really think I would post something like that without checking it out myself first?

Of course I checked it out and verified it.

You must really have a low opinion of my intelligence, experience and general integrity.

Have you gone through the debugging steps yet?

@ Jorgen,

Post your Event Viewer log:

Look in the Windows Event Viewer and get the

Everything is perfect now, no DXGI hung errors anymore.

I can reproduce those errors when I switch on "Enable Bathymetry".

I know every hardware is different. So I'm not sure if this fix works the same for everyone else.

@ kaha ,

Thanks for the follow up.

What is your hardware setup?

New P3Dv5.1HF1 default install without Add-ons, correct?

I9-9900K overclocked to 5,0 on all cores. MSI 2080TI no OC. 32GB 3200, M.2 SSDs and SATA SSDs. 4K single monitor externaly synched to half frame rate in Nvidia Inspector.

If I have to test anomalies I disable overclocking of course. But now I'm back to 5,0GHz all cores with no problems.

And yes, 5.1.12 was a clean installation after removing 5.1.8. Then I installed all my addons.
