Were you seeing this same type of problem presentation in past weeks?
Actually getting the error at any time in not good.

In the past was Bathymetry On or Off in P3D Optioons?

Do you intend on just leaving it off, do your normal flights and report back?

Yes I had it on previously.

Yep I will leave it off and report back

OK

Some more info:

If Bathemetry 'on' and Enhanced Atmospherics set to 'Ultra' I get DXGI - Crash

If Bathemetry 'on' and Enhanced Atmospherics set to less than Ultra - No crash

If Bathemetry 'off' and Enhanced Atmospherics set to 'Ultra' - No crash

For me, this is reproducible - on my system it appears related to those options.

Considering P3D V5 uses Nvidia tech with NVIDIA WaveWorks 2.0. it's a little surprising!!

Maybe my findings help someone or at least encourage someone who has the same problem to try to tweak his options for a possible temporary solution until this is fixed.

Karl
Are you the same Kaha on the ORBX forums saying it was Buildings HD that is causing the error? And here you're saying it was Bathymetry that's causing the error.

I'm confused. I understand that you're trying to get to the bottom of it, but definitively declaring "X is the cause" isn't helpful. It will waste time and will lead us all on wild goose chases.
Yes, that's me.

At that time it was my first DXGI hung error ever. And it appearerd after installing 5.1.12 and then getting in my addons. So I made a post in the ORBX support forum. I did not get any reply anyway, and I now understand the reason why ORBX did not react. It's just a too complex topic, too many eventualities involved.

But, hey, I now flew for 7 hours in V5.1HF1 with all my addons, changing scenery and changing aeroplanes and no DXGI hung error. I know it's not a guarantee but it looks promising.

I'm just going to copy and paste this here so that hopefully someone will find it amongst all these pages - since I created this topic before it was hijacked by all those posts over the weekend:

@ quid21 ,

Was this a graphic card error?

In a previous post in the topic you mentioned:
“The only addons I have are my own products.
They are not verified to work, since they are all work in progress still however the addon which produces the CTD in this post uses the default P3D ground radar.

Just tried again loading the F-35 then switching back to the aircraft I used before, no errors in Eventvwr, only Information logs looks like a problem with Radar? - the aircraft uses the ground radar render to texture from P3D SDK:

Since the Graphics card driver is up to date, has never been overclocked and only a month old, and the PC was constructed by a specialist and is only a month old with new hardware all round, and that it worked with P3D V5.1 without the hotfix, I'm not sure it could be a card error unless something has changed with regard to bathemetry being on or enhanced atmospherics set to ultra - since they are the options that cause the error.

The error also occurs with the default Mooney with G1000 so I'm confident that my two simple aircraft addons (no scenery and no other modifications) are not the cause. Being a developer I keep my installs as vanilla as possible so I can say with certainty that the addons work with P3D by default.

Hello colleagues
I hope this wasn't posted before.
I downloaded V5.1 which included the hotfix.
This is also causing my GTX3080 to hang up.

How can I get a version without the faulty hotfix?

Thank you

Which faulty hotfix is that?

I have V5.1.12.26829 which apparently includes the latest hotfix.

I just downloaded the product and it contained the hotfix so my program did never run without a error.

As I was browsing through this forum I thought I could install a version without the latest hotfix.

makes sense?

Nope, it only makes sense to have the latest version available for download, incorporating all fixes.

What problems are you experiencing?

Or, maybe I should phrase my reply this way:

It makes no sense at all to have a version with known, fixed bugs available for download.

You defending the software does not help getting to the bottom of problems. There is enough evidence and enough people experiencing this issue to say that it is a widespread bug with 5.1.12.

You denying that is unproductive.

No, there is not.

And anyway, that is a moot point, since neither you nor I have control over what is available for download. I only speak from experience in the computer industry.

Hi,

Version 5.1.12.26829, not using EA.

Got the DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED error more than once at the end (taxing in / deboarding) of a short flight from LFPG (Taxi2Gate) to EGLL (Aerosoft). Also using OrbX TrueEarth GB, ActiveSky P3D / ASCA, ENV (Tex, Shade and Sound).

I hope this P3D issue can be corrected soon as it is very annoying and prevents the usage of P3D with minimal confidence that a flight can get completed.

Thank you

There are updates available for (at least) Envtex, Envshade and Active Sky available.

Have you applied these, and all other available updates/patches for your add-ons - and have you disabled Bathymetry?
