@ mfueeg ,

You mentioned:
“with the inbuild speakers i have 40 fps”

Ok, that is good for this initial test.

With the working sound setup do this again:

Windows Start (lower left corner of desktop).
Type device manager
select device manager
from the list (at the top)
select / click on Audio ....
Do a screenshot.

Again, to which audio system do you have the speakers connected, and to which the headset?

Try, just for fun, to plug the headset into the audio system where you also have the speakers and see if the FPS drop happens then.

Oh, but yes it IS connected to a specific sound system. If it was not you would not hear a thing in the headset.

And that sound system is the cause of your problem, therefore you want to connect the headset to the other sound system.

@ mfueeg ,

Follow up information.

I have stereo speakers plugged into the PC motherboards sound jack.

I also have a USB Headset with Mic (corded not wireless) available for flight sim listening or when I do videos with headset sound and Mic for recording my audio (narration).

The stereo speakers are always connected to the motherboard jack.
I did a screenshot of the Device Manager Audio with this configuration.

When I use the USB headset plugged into any PC USB port it cuts out the stereo speakers sound so PC audio is only heard in the headset.
I did a screenshot of the Audio Device Manager with this configuration.

In a previous post you mentioned you chose "headsetsystem."
"A headset and in p3dv5.2 - soundsystem i choosed the headsetsystem.

Have another look at your P3D Sound Options when using your wireless headset.
Is there also a (selection dropdown) choice to use the Default Primary device?

Did you at least TRY to connect the headphones to where the speakers are connected?

I just installed the client new, just because i was so frustrated of that fps issue.
After i installed the client new again… wonder!!
I got my 50-70 fps even with my headset.
So that sound thing was not the problem.

But THANK YOU anyway!! The support and the will to help is just great.

If I could add something, I removed my Notepad-8FX hardware and drivers from the system. I then re-installed the drivers and now I'm getting my FPS back still able to use that Notepad-8FX now. Very odd but everything is working fine now for me too.

@ jphustman ,

Thanks for confirming a problem with your sound [Notepad-8FX hardware / system drivers] setup .

That is why I initially asked:

Have you guys made any changes to default WIN10 sound setup?
Are you using a custom sound setup / sound drivers?

Just to reaffirm, after reinstalling that Soundcraft mixer and reinstalling the exact same drivers (2.0.4 Jul 01, 2020), everything has went back to working normally now - the exact same setup as before.

I am still under the assumption it was that large Windows update. Just a guess, but maybe it overwrote some files or something and messed it up.

Basically uninstalling and removing the audio interface rebooting and reinstalling seemed to fix it, if someone else runs into that issue maybe it can help.

Thank you for your time and assistance!
