Hello all,
I have recently purchased Prepar3d 4.5, and it runs superbly on my medium end pc. The only problem I have is severe shimmering, especially on taxiway and runway lines. I have enabled FXAA through the nvidia control panel, which helps a bit, but the side effect of that is that the VC panel instruments are harder to read...
Is there a real fix for this shimmering problem?
Windows 10-64 bit
Asus Prime B460M-A
I5-10600K
16GB DDR4 RAM
Nvidia Geforce GTX 1660
Windows 10 and Prepar3d both installed on SSD
Thanks!
Severe shimmering in 4.5

To optimize P3D to your particular system, which may help with this, go here:

Re: Severe shimmering in 4.5
So I have tried many different settings, but unfortunately the shimmering remains.
I don`t know if this is even possible, but it looks like anything else but DX9 is broken on my system\
I also use FSX, and in DX9 mode everything is smooth, no shimmers whatsoever. When I use DX10 mode, the shimmering
is there also.
Is it possible my DX10,11 and 12 are broken? Can I reinstall this without mucking everything up?
I am a novice at these things, so that`s why I am asking
Thx again

Re: Severe shimmering in 4.5
DX10 has known issues with FSX. It been some time since I had FSX, but I think there is something called "Steve's DX10 Fixer". But I never ran FSX in DX10, since it's not its native mode.
However, in P3D v. 4.5 you use DX11. Try searching the web for:
DX11 broken
That will give you some things to try.
