After selecting initial aircraft, airport and runway, The monitor(s) turn black when the OK button is pressed and the only way to get back to the desktop is to click on Ctrl>Alt>Del with the option to choose Task Manager to remove P3Dv5.
Thus, there is no way that I can use the program.

P3Dv5.1 or 5.2 ?
Are you starting P3D for the first time or has it run ok in the past?
First launches take extra time to get configured and load the default flight.

Re: Crash after initial setup
It has run well in the past but I have just installed it onto an SSD drive from the C drive
Re: Crash after initial setup
This is the 5.1 version. Thinking of upgrading to v5.2.
Re: Crash after initial setup
I think that I have found the cause of the problem. Initially, I had installed v5 onto E/:SSD > Program Files. I should have installed in onto Program Files > Lockheed Martin > P3Dv5.
The initial installation may not have found the correct path but the new installation. Hopefully the new installation onto the P3Dv5 folder will find the correct path.

Re: Crash after initial setup
No Luck. The black screens keep coming. I might have to buy a fresh program.

@ Pedrosi ,
Windows folder :
Program Files
is a bad place to put the program
I install to D:\Prepar3D v5
What are your system specs?
The P3Dv5 specs are here:
