I found this (possible) solution on AVSIM:

Move your dll.xml to a temporary folder and see if this fixes the problem. If you have two dll.xml's, move only one, and see if it fixes the problem. If so, the problem is in that copy of the dll.xml.

It is located in your \config\SimConnect folder under where you installed the SDK.

Exactly the same issue here. Started to happen after hotfix 2 installation.
Few minutes into flight CTD. However in the windows event log I see that there is a .NET error before the g2d.dll crash.

It doesn't matter which aircraft or if active sky is running or not.

I see a framework error first.

Application: Prepar3D.exe
Framework version: v4.0.30319
Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.
Exception Information: exception code c0000005, exception address 00007FFCD785EDC3

I see in another post that the module g2d.dll is causing this problem. Which is the same module as my case.
This started after installing hotfix 2, hotfix 1 was ok.

The exception code of 0xc0000005 points to someone doing something very bad, writing to an area of memory that he does not have permission to write to.

Usually this comes down to incompatible or badly programmed add-ons.

So, what add-ons do you have installed here?

In another thread, I saw that PMDG just has released v. 5 fixes for some of their aircraft. That is worth checking.

Active Sky is still in beta, and may cause issues.

@ Pelium19,

Was that PMDG737NG ?
or
PMDG737NGXu for P3Dv5HF2?
