aircraft crashing in valleys

Post by hermes82 »

I have a problem flying at low altitudes through valley's, it's happened with the stock F16 as well as the iris F16, i'm around 250 feet above ground flying level and the next thing i'm into the ground, my altitude hasn't changed but the ground has hit me not the other way around, I tried landing in seattle yesterday and the ground hit me from around quarter of a mile of the runway on 34L i'd appreciate someone trying the same approach in the F16 to see if it's just on my computer, i'm using orbx products but this happened with stock scenery also

I can confirm the same in P3 D V5 in F-16. Flying approach to Runway 24 L in LAX at about 500 feet suddenly you are on the ground. Happened three times.

Also happened once on approach to 8 L at Burbank in the F-16.

There is something seriously wrong with the elevation model in V5.

I also have observed trucks and cars at 30,000 feet as in this post here....

KSEA-ILS34L-Approach from 5000 feet 14nm out (HIPRO) and landing all ok
Elevation on landing is correct.
Screenshot just prior to touchdown.

Did you mean IRIS F22 (not F16)?

No Orbx products. Default setup.

Is your IRIS F16 a payware aircraft?

By chance is the IRIS F16 you used a freeware fsx product from FlyAway (downloads)?

no it's the original payware iris model, it's worked in all other version's of p3d so when it began crashing in v5 I assumed it had a compatability problem but after having the same issue with the stock aerosoft version I decided to post here, just tried the same with dino's eurofighter and all went well with no crashes in the valleys or on approach to KSEA runway 34L

I looked for the IRIS F16 payware and could not find it.
Do you have a link to it?

As for crashes.
Do you have Crash Detect ON in P3D Options?

iris stopped selling the F16 some years ago i'm afraid, i'll check crash detect in a minute as I have an issue with autogen and i'm using orbx central to verify global files, bizzarely I tried both iris and stock aerosoft F16's at KSEA and my autogen dissapeared completely but I succesfully landed both on runway 34L

Ok that is why I could not find the payware IRIS F16 ... LM has the LM F16 in its lineup I think it was from an Aerosoft initial build.

I do not install aircraft that are not designed / tested for P3D unless for a specific test.

edit:
You mentioned Dino’s eurofighter.
Is it ready / approved for P3Dv5?

I installed Dino’s payware F35 (has installer for P3Dv5) for P3Dv5 to test.
I had to remove it because it had many “Content” errors.
Dino told me it was because I did not have VRS’s TacPack for P3Dv5 which is not even available yet. But his model looks for it.

well my graphics card ran out of memory on one of my previous flights and gave me an option to free up memory or abort so I opted for the first option, that reset my autogen sliders to zero which account's for the autogen issue but once again I carried out 2 landings at high and low angles of attack with the stock F16 without it crashing, crash detect option was set to off, my decision to install the iris F16 was just to test compatability, the stock LM one was an aerosoft design, as far as the eurofighter goes dino told me it wasn't given a new installer so installing it had no guarantee of compatability but it works fine in v5
