Thank you. I deleted my reply because I realized your issue in the very first place was usage in CPU1 when you did not want too much usage there. But yeah, it looks like my i5 can't keep CPU0 below 100%. Trust me, I turned down everything. I guess it is just the way v5.2 has been programmed, but at least I'm happy with the overall sim performance.Ray Proudfoot wrote: ↑Sat Jun 19, 2021 11:29 am TextRich, the i5 is the reason you're stuck at 100%. P3D really benefits from an i7 or faster.
Try adjusting your settings if you want to keep cpu0 below 100%. I found that when it was hit there would be a drop in performance albeit briefly. 100% on either the CPU or GPU means the hardware cannot deliver what you're asking in your settings.
CPU Usage up, GPU usage down results in worse performance.

With my 14 core 7940X I am also using an AM like I do for years. But v5.2 puts about 5-10% more load on the main thread core and 30-40% more load on the terrain cores.
My 3090 has a load drop of almost 20%z
This is compared to v5.1 with the same settings…
So I use more load on the CPU and less on the GPU.
And SteveS has helped me too a lot over the years with AM and my systems..

Ray
How was the GPU load ...... less than 5.1 ?
cheers

Probably. Around 25-30% with EA disabled but rising to 60-70% with it on. But I prefer the look of the skies with it off and Active Sky and ASCA running.

ok it's an old fix but either disable core 0 in task manager or process laso if you have it then once in the sim enable it again, it gives a nice even spread across all cores and smooth as silk after

%hermes82, thanks for the suggestion but as I have things now is fine for me. Cores 0 2 4 6 8 and 10 give me excellent results.
