Creating Scenery at Runtime

Post by haroldFDavidson »

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has done anything in regards to moving landing pads...
I'm looking at setting up a scenario where a helicopter is able to land on a helipad which is moving (like a cruise ship or something maybe)

My Current thought process is
1. Create the Helipad object ( and enable collision in some way)
2. Have the heli-pad move following an AI object( and rotate to simulate the movement of the ship bobbing on waves)

Sorry if my explanations are a bit off. I come from a game dev background, and a lot of the terminology is different in the sim community.

Thanks in advance

I believe the answer you are looking for is the Platform checkbox in the attachpoint tool. This can be applied to sim objects as well as scenery objects. See the Learning Center->SDK->Modelling->3ds Max->Tools->The Attach Tool.
