Push back attach point

What determines where the fork of the push back vehicle attaches to the airplane to start pushing it back? I have a case where the airplane starts moving back when the fork of the push back vehicle is 10-15 feet away from the front gear.

I can adjust where the front wheel is located in contact_points in aircraft.cfg, but that makes the airplane unstable on the ground.
