Newbie starting animation

Post by rsubers2 »

I have Prepar3d V5. I am looking to create a wind turbine with rotating blades. I cannot afford 3ds so what I have to work with would be GMax and Blender. Can I do what I want with these 2 and if so is there a tutorial? I have gotten fairly decent with creating static models with GMax so the concern would be being able to do the animation. I have never done animation so will need lots of info.

I'm not a developer but as I understand, SODE is the right one developing moving objects ?

You need to make the animation in blender, add the amination using the Blender2P3D kit, then export it, and control the rotation of the object with the wind direction like a windsock. SODE can do this for you. You'll have to download their SDK.
