Mesh value in the version 5 hotfix1

Post by lagaffe »

Hi,

From what I have read in several trade journals including PC Pilot, the Prepar3D team has integrated many changes on this latest version v5 and a lot of geographical data.

I would have liked to know if the value of the mesh had been modified compared to the previous version since a number of platforms no longer have these unsightly effects of connection with the surrounding terrain.

Do products such as FS Global Next Generation 2020 with 1m resolution meshes provide an improvement?

Best regards,

The main update to the mesh data before HF1 was the addition of the SRTM 90m globally. That's 60 degrees north /south Instead of just portions of Europe and Canada and a few smaller locations as in v4.5. The continental US and Alaska already used the NED 30m.

I put a small custom 2m mesh into the area around Milford Sound NZ. I plan on updating the areas north of 60 degrees north in the near future for both Europe and Canada.
