Is Black Marble Vector with V5.x more accurate?

Post by Sabre57 »

If anyone is using Black Marble vector with V5.x, is it more accurate than either V5 default or Orbx vector? I've done various searches and haven't been able to find any definitive answers. Thanks!

It depends what you are looking for. The BM Vector handles only roads and lighting. I don't use the default or ORBX (I am a photoscenery user).

Thanks. That helps. Do you use it and if so what do you think about it?

Yes I do and I think the BM add-ons are well worth it. I waited for their 50% off sales.

Yes. Black Marble Vector contains 100% of every road in the world and hence the lighting applied. Orbx Vector, which really only accounts for about 60% of all the roads in the world, used outdated data up until V5 came out with more current data and hence more accurate, not 100% tho still. Orbx Vector was updated for V5 but the road system still is no better than P3D default. BM Vector is the only complete road system available for P3D and totally worth it. You can use Orbx vector as well with it as it will disable their night lighting, disable their roads but use their golf courses, railway bridges and electric towers.

Thanks for your comments. I've viewed several of your video's on youtube and the nights look really good. One thing there isn't a lot of, are videos showing what the roads look like during the day. In addition, I'm also interested in BM 3d bridges and how much improvement they are over stock P3D. Do you have any thoughts on this?

Yes, all of Creative Design Studios products are I feel a must. bridges does have higher quality and better scaled bridges than default. Same with the Traffic pack. I would say if you were limited to only three items tho. Base, Vector and Extended are the main must haves. They give you tools to help keep the sim stable from CTDs and they give you fantastic looking night lights that just cant be beaten visually.
