Prepar3D v2 Hotfix (2.5.12946.0)

Post by Adam Breed »

Hello All,

Below is a hotfix to bring all previous v2.5s to 2.5.12946.0 (hotfix 4).

Academic/Professional: http://www.prepar3d.com/wp-content/plug ... php?id=168
Professional Plus: http://www.prepar3d.com/wp-content/plug ... php?id=169

This targeted hotfix addresses the following issues only:

SimDirector – numerous fixes made to correct crashes and loading visualizations
SimConnect_WeatherRequestCloudState – now correctly returns the proper values in a SIMCONNECT_RECV_CLOUD_STATE structure
Attached floating objects – corrected rendering library objects in a wrong location in relation to the boat veh_carrier01_high_detail_sm SimObject
This hotfix is mainly to address critical issues found with SimDirector.

To use this hotfix, download and extract the appropriate zip file and copy the contained files on top of your default installation. You should accept all prompts to overwrite files (Yes or Yes to All).

The full Prepar3D download links have been updated to include this hotfix, but you are encouraged to use this hotfix patch whenever possible.

Please be aware, if any third party software modified any of the dlls included in the hotfix, you will need to reinstall their content/add-on. Those developers might need to release an update for their products to be compatible with this hotfix. Please contact them directly for any compatibility questions. Additionally, when using this hotfix, any Prepar3D repair or reinstallation will need the hotfix reapplied.

Thanks for being a part of the community and enjoy,
Adam

Does this hotfix affect the SDK download? Should we wait for the SDK update before applying this hotfix? Thanks for your good work on P3D.

Just for info.
I installed patch 4.
Deleted Shaders folder.
Started P3D with HF4

Got this (screenshot), selected run once, P3D loaded ok to selection screen .. looked ok but I did not do a flight:
Possibly an Orbx thing .. I will have to check it out.

Best Regards,
Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL (KDTW)

Yes of course it will effect the SDK and those addons that lookup a specific version number to ensure compatibility.
The SDK will be undated shortly.

If in any doubt about your addons please contact the respective developers to seek an update for your addons.

Martyson,

If you look at the error message you posted, in the dialog box title you will see "Orbx systems" ... this indicates an Orbx error message not a P3D error message. I'd recommend you contact the Orbx support group for information.

Fsxsimmer274,

ASN is a 3rd party product by HiFi simulations, I recommend you contact them for support information.

Cheers, Rob.

@Saul

Will there be a v2.5x /2.6 which improves the VAS usage a little or will this be V3 only ?

Compared to v2.4 I now have turned of all my ag ( before sparse / low ) to avoid OOM.
The sim behaves perfectly in this way, so I can do all flights with all my addons in all kind of weather.

I have no problem waiting for v3...

Hi,

does the "Attached floating objects" update effects the known issues with helicopter sling loads problems?
The strange behaviour of the Misc objects on hoist operations is really annoying.

@ Adam, Saul, Rob

could you have a look to the hoist objects problem :(. It would be really nice to fly hoist missions in Prepar3d:).
