Hi Fervex,
Followed your steps above to the 3 bis) restart but I still have a problem. After building its indexes, P3D V2.5.12943.0 from the full download opens a SimConnect Diagnostic Output window with no text in it, and then abends with the window 'Prepar3D.exe has stopped working'.
Can you guide me?
Regards, Richard
PS I want to execute my ASN on the same PC as Prepar3D. Am I correct in believing that SimConnect files only require altering if my ASN is on another PC?

1) Simconnect is used on the same PC as well
2) Follow the ASN tips http://www.hifitechinc.com/forums/showt ... SE-and-P3D
3) Install C++ 2013 x86 from here http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... x?id=40784

Viper said; 'I too have X52 joystick and pedals and I randomly keep loosing them. Unplugging it from PC and plugging it back in seems to fix the issue temporarily until next hickup but it’s rather annoying. Now that I hear others are having problems with same hardware, I would like to chime in too and point a problem out since it exists'.
I have had that problem but it has resolved completely since I plugged the X55 joystick and throttle USB wires directly into the computer. Of course, then I had to find what would work satisfactorily from my multi USB but that was not so much of a problem, most things do. Just a matter of re-arranging really.

After many attempts to delete/repair/reload Prepar3D and subsequently to run the \FSX-RTM\retail\lib\SimConnect.msi, \FSX-SP1\retail\lib\SimConnect.msi and \FSX-SP2-XPACK\retail\lib\SimConnect.msi files, my Prepar3D abends as soon as the SimConnect Diagnostic Output window opens with no containing text, accompanied with the Prepar3D.exe window 'Prepar3D.exe has stopped working'.
My original post stated that this had happened when trying to start 777-200LRF, but now it happens each time before I receive the aircraft choice window.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
Cheers, Richard

Bemkovic, your 'it's a fact' comment is a clear overstatement of the situation. There's lots of happy 2.5 users, many would consider it to be a substantial step forward.
You need to accept that if you install updates early in the cycle there will be a lag whilst developers catch up.
It's only been a couple of weeks but most programs are already functioning well with v2.5. My personal experience is that it's significantly smoother and I must say I would be disappointed to go back to v2.4 now.

Hi!
I have now solved my Prepar3D start-up abends by realising that the problem was caused by not having the correct SimConnect files present.
Luckily, someone posted the contents of their own files, copied them, and all is now well.
Thanks for your patience,
Regards, Richard
