Re: The Caribbean again...
Hi all, I don't use PILOT's but I do use Orbx and FlyTampa extensively, just FYI. This problem of black rectangles had appeared on my system and it was due to offending files from one of the addons, or a corrupt terrain.cfg. The easiest way to identify all of the files in use in any scenery area is ...

Re: P3Dv4.2 VR Single Pass Rendering Mode Issue
Tested with latest nVidia driver v 391.01. made no difference, the problem persists. I have noticed that this problem seems to be limited to when on an airport.... ie, slew to a downtown area and sit on the ground (Los Angeles, Honolulu, New York all tested) and there are no flashing artifacts, at l...

Re: P3Dv4.2 VR Single Pass Rendering Mode Issue
This issue persists after completely uninstalling 4.2 and starting from a clean state. I am running the latest Oculus runtime, and I have tested this with two different versions of the nVidia GeForce drivers (since Oculus suggested using driver version 388.59 to avoid performance issues), but this p...

Re: Improvements in VR for 4.2 - great progress!
Great comments and I agree, its a big improvement. However, I just reinstalled 4.2 to a completely clean state, since I thought I previously had done something to corrupt the view I see in VR : While taxiing at certain airports and set the VR mode to "Single Pass", then slowly move your he...

Re: 16 or 32 RAM
Hi, I just finished building a very similar rig. I would suggest you start with 16GB, and get familiar with how the system overclocks, and ensure you get the DDR4 that the MOBO mfr states is compatible with the timings of your system. Ram is expensive right now, you can always add more sticks later....

Re: P3dv4.2 Installation
Hey olympic, You can choose to update one or more specific sections or you can do a complete reinstall to update everything. You can see what each installer contains in the release notes here: https://prepar3d.com/news/2018/02/114621/ The client contains most of the changes and is required to updat...

Re: Flashing blocks over the ocean (again) P3D v4
Update : I have narrowed this down to a LOD radius issue. When this issue occurs, I can reset LOD down to "medium" and the flashing stops, and tiles load correctly. I can wait a few more minutes, then sneak back up to LOD "high" and seems to behave normally. At first I thought it...

Flashing blocks over the ocean (again) P3D v4
Hi all, Flying the PMDG 737 today in v4 for the 1st time..flying the famous Gatwick-Amsterdam flight, and I was really stunned / disappointed to see the flashing light blue blocky texture chunks over the ocean AGAIN. I used to see this in v3 and I am really surprised its back again. Is this a common...

Re: P3D V4 Broadcast GPS Setting (Foreflight)
Unfortunately, after installing Hotfix1, the GPS output to Foreflight is no better. The aircraft heading continues to wander left and right continuously in cruise flight. Altitude and speed appear to be rock solid. Using the add-on FSXFlight, which is another Foreflight connector program, works fin...

Re: Thanks to Adam and Beau and the rest of the team for Native VR
I am wondering if LM could buy P3D code from Flyinside and improve the VR natively. It will save so much time and double development. Now that Flyinside is focused on making their own sim. The Stereo, cross hairs and resetting HMD need to be fixed. I can't use P3Dv4 till these are fixed. +++1. tota...

Re: Stuff I have working in P3D V4
Great posts, thanks. I got JustFlight Traffic360 working in v4. Surprised, but it works. But you cannot expect an "auto install", they do not support....instead, I did it manually. I used the same compiled traffic file from P3D 3.4, and followed the same file structure as the previous post...

Re: Thanks to Adam and Beau and the rest of the team for Native VR
Agreed ! Love the VR support, needs a bit of polishing ( stereo , cross hairs, etc) but I too am getting reasonable results. The way to move your eye point / seat position : utilize the "recenter HMD view" as follows : - assign a key or joy button that you can access without having to remo...

Re: Request for VR Stability -
Hi all, I'm using native VR in v4 with fair results. Frames could be faster, but in most scenarios, it's acceptable. One big thing that is missing - the ability to switch into VR mode via hotkey. Having to select VR mode on screen with mouse, is a good start. Being able to re-center VR with hotkey -...

Re: Select Airport Menu
Completely agree ! The select location UI needs a rework. I like your suggestion of "flow"...since using v4, I have on numerous occasions inserted the ICAO code into the "City" field.... Please consider reworking this so that the flow is more logical....ICAO code , and gate are p...
