V5 hangs indefinitely upon opening the ATC window
Hi, I have the phenomena here that V5 greys out and hangs indefinitely when I try to open the ATC window. Sometimes it opens and enters the hang when you choose an option like filing a flight plan during flight. It does not seem to be connected with resource problems, e.g. it apparently does that wi...

[Released] SBuilderX V 3.15
To all scenery designers here: SBX 315 has been released. Among many other changes, it is more flexible in it's configuration now, works with P3D V4.1, and works properly under Win10. http://www.ptsim.com/downloads/SBX315.zip It is also a public Github project now, source code is here: https://githu...

CAD Style Scenery Design Application
I have been designing sceneries for many years and used SbuilderX as the main tool, as well as ADE for airports and Arno Gerretsens great tools for libraries, scenery elements and effects. While ADE is luckily being tended to, the creator of the magnificent SbuilderX has retired (well-deserved, I ha...

Re: Aircraft Structural Damage
I think the whole discussion should be wether or not LM should provide a standardized interface in the sim for damage modeling and the conditioning. The latter partly already exists natively. As far as aircraft are concerned the devs would have to provide alternative damage models (e.g. like CFS2) t...

Re: Wet grounds, pavements, windows, floodings as well!
Water with it's typical properties is not simulated at all, except a very limited version in of the ocean and lakes. All you see right now is trickery with textures. Some aircraft show rain drops on the windows, which is a trickery on the glass textures. When it rains, water will only show on AFCAD ...

Re: Quixel Will Feature P3D Export Format
I bought Quixel last week and start to get aquainted with it, an amazing piece of software.
Sorry of being a bit OT with my question, Bill, but is it possible to burn ambient occlusion maps into the textures with it? It's not clear to me from reading documentation.
Cheers,
Mark

Re: Possible for aircraft to recieve light sources?
What you see as "lights" in the moment is trickery with texture mapping, with the drawbacks you mentioned. The only "light" source in the sim that has the property of emitting light is the sun. While I think that it would be great to be able to define light sources in model or sc...

Make P3D more robust
Hi, It would be great if the sim engine could be brought to be a bit more robust. Right now, the slightest fault (syntax, non accessible files, etc) in an XML or other config file causes fatal app crashes which are documented by the OS in a way that hardly is usable to pinpoint the cause. I would pr...

Maybe not official, but the latest SDK scripts seem to work in 2016. At least for me.

Re: No FSX, only Prepar3d v3. Can I install SBuilderX314?
I work with SBX 314 64bit and P3D V3 all the time. The FSUIPC functions are also there. The only issue I noticed so far is that the library object manager does not read native p3d object mdls / bgls, but that can be easily circumvented.

Re: P3D V3 Saitek Panels
I also use most panels in P3D V3 and they work flawless. However, I don't use the original drivers. I launch SPAD prior to P3D to manage the panels.
There is also a commercial follow up to SPAD http://secure.simmarket.com/spad.next.phtml but I don't have any experience with that.

Mark

Adam, whew, took a while to find that again, I almost thought I can't replicate the error. Re: Avatar Mode not working with FSUIPC
It works here with FSUIPC, but I noticed that sometimes the Avatar goes in circles when he should walk straight. That is with moving him by keyboard command, not by controllers. You didn't mention it, but did you try moving him by keyboard? You could check on the axis assignments of your controllers...
