Multi Channel Benefits

Hello, I am running a single computer with an i9 and 3x RTX 3080 with each GPU outputting a single projector. The three projectors display a seamless image onto a curved display. We have run into issues with performance in this configuration and we are wondering if it would be worthwhile for us to i...

Re: Multi-Screen Display

How do I enable single pass rendering for viewgroups? There's a toggle on the View Group properties page in the View Management tool. It's easy to miss. (Note that it only works with some GPUs - I think only Nvidia right now, though I could be wrong - but it definitely works with Nvidia 3000 series...

Re: Multi-Screen Display

Looking at getting a high-end PC with i9 processor and RTX 3080. The version of P3D I have is Academic version V5, can it do the above 4-screens display? Will the suggested configurations run well on this setup? Would much appreciate any advice. Lep Yes, any version of Prepar3d can use as many scre...

Sound System Improvement

Hello, In airplanes, as the aircraft climbs to higher altitudes, the engine sounds fade into the background due to the atmosphere becoming less dense. During cruise in airliners, the only sounds heard are the wind sound in the cockpit. This is not currently represented by the Prepar3d sound engine a...

Re: 3x 2K Displays, 2x 2080 TI - Best performance configuration?

Have you tried NVidia surround with Immersaview warping? Immersaview still exports a View Group, but just one for the large combined view instead of three (one group for each display). This results in a big improvement in performance. The only side effect is some stretching at the far edges. You wi...

Re: 3x 2K Displays, 2x 2080 TI - Best performance configuration?

I run a collimated visual system with 3 4K projectors that project onto a back projection display and then reflect onto a mylar mirror. We have the same issues. I have tried numerous different configurations to no avail. View groups simply is not well optimized and needs some work from LM to improv...

Re: P3D Launch with 3 Screens

Hello, Window size and positions are saved into scenario files. If you position your windows where you want them and then save your scenario and make it the default your windows will load in the same place every time you launch the application. Regards, Rob McCarthy Oddly enough, we do use the same...

Re: 3x 2K Displays, 2x 2080 TI - Best performance configuration?

As a follow-up to this, it appears the view groups are a major cause of stutters at even minimal P3D settings. Disabling view groups brings the smoothness more back to much more acceptable levels on a single screen. Once view groups are enabled, however, I get a lot of frame inconsistencies and stu...

P3D Launch with 3 Screens

Hi, I run a three projector setup on a training device. When launching Prepar3d the first time when the sim is initially booted up, the sim seemingly picks a new screen each time to load the main launch screen on. Is there a way to tell P3D which screen is the "center" screen and the one t...

View Groups Issue

Hi, I am using a three projector collimated visual setup using prepar3d v4.5 view groups. The warp and blend is provided by Immersaview. The problem we are having is that P3D will display the left view-group on the right projector and the right view-group on the left projector. Our workaround has be...

v2 is supposed to address dozens of issues with the legacy ESP code. It is supposed to cover, lighting, terrain, autogen, clouds and the engine itself.

I am quite sure that they said that this would be looked into for the v2 release. Once they move over to DX11, they are going to scrap a large amount of legacy code so they can move forward with this project.
