Hello,

Could everyone experiencing this issue please completely uninstall (not just disable) all addons and delete the generated files?

Then, run Prepar3D to make sure it works without addons with the KB4038788 update.

Once that is confirmed, reinstall your addons.

As of now, we have not been able to reproduce the issue, even after installing addons.

Thanks for your patience,
Kayla

After my last crash I found this in the Windows event viewer:

- <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event">

<Provider Name="Application Error" />
<EventID Qualifiers="0">1000</EventID>

<EventRecordID>5840</EventRecordID>

</System>
- <EventData>

An "audiere.dll" is listed there. The file is located in the P3D main directory.

I have do it.

Any plane without DLL works.
Any scenery without DLL works.

Any plane with DLL (PMDG) or scenery (Orbx ObjectFlow) causes an error.

InstantSenery works and FSUIPC (external softwares) work.

It is to use InstantScenery that I keep the v3 installed, InstantScenery does not work on the v4 for the moment.

I already posed the entries of my event log earlier.
Right, sorry, I recall now .. wrong language .. could not read it.

i'm running V4 and started having BSODs after about 20 min of flight. At first I thought this was related to the issue with ORBX KSAN, as I was getting CTDs on approach into KSAN with SoCal enabled.

This BSOD is happening on every flight. Was searching the forum and came upon this thread. I noticed that KB4038788 installed itself 3 days ago, about when the BSODs were starting. I'm uninstalling now, and will report back.

There is for sure something funky with this Windows update. I just uninstalled it, and now V4 is running fine. I started having BSODs on every flight, didn't matter from what airport, about 20 mins after takeoff.

I may even say that after uninstalling this update, I got a slight performance bump.

Can't say what it's related to, as I'm not willing to uninstall every add on I have.

System specs:

i7 4790k
Asus GTX 1080ti @ 4k
16g DDR3 2133 ram
500g SSD Windows 10
500g SSD P3dv4

Now I just have to figure a way to keep the update from reinstalling until LM sorts this issue.

Quick question.
Has Orbx released KSAN for V4?

Officially, no. And there is an issue arriving into KSAN with ORBX SoCal installed, P3d will CTD at about 20miles from the airport.

This issue we're speaking about is unrelated. My first BSOD happened as I was departing KSAN. That's never happened before, and I did some other testing with flights from other locations. The BSOD was happening on every flight I did, about 20 minutes in, from any airport.

Ok,
Thanks for the answer.

Initially I thought using Orbx KSAN for P3Dv3 in P3Dv4 could have also caused the problem.

App crash only when payware aircraft load?

1062 NET framework error
1000 NET framework error

relating to NET framework 4.0

I see reports of C++ Visual Studio being broken after this update.

My money's on a Simconnect call.

So how do you prevent this from reinstalling when the PC does another update?

Go to windows update, find the one you don't want, right click on it and it will let you hide the update.

I too have the same problem.
LM please fix it somehow - you cannot expect people using p3d without 3rd party add-ons. Disabling Security update is just a workaround but you cannot expect us to leave it uninstalled as it's a SECURITY update.

Thanks
