Add-on Aircraft Installation

Post by roadrabbit »

I have an Avro York that was a freeware add-on for FS9 which worked in FSX-SP2 Acceleration. I would like to get it working in Prepar3Dv5.1.

First question: is this even possible?

I have followed the instructions posted in your Support at https://www.prepar3d.com/add-ons/ trying both methods, but at present my system does not seem to recognise the add-on at all. One thing I did notice is that the location suggested for the add-on files ends with ........ Prepar3Dv5>Add-ons whereas in my folder the ending is .......... Prepar3Dv5 Add-ons without the seperator.

Any help would be much appreciated.

The Aircraft_Name folder and all of its contents should be copied to the following folder:
C:\Users\<UserName>\Documents\Prepar3D v<VersionNumber> Add-ons

This is assuming the add on AC is a P3D complete folder , including the add-on.xml file.

I suggest you review the Learning Center section regarding add ons as an FS9 folder may not have all the rquired files.
