missing rain drops on windshield when raining
hello,
since updting to 4.3 latest version, by way of a completely clean install, there is suddenly a lack of rain drops on the pmdg glass cockput windshield, so when it rain its exactly like it was before we got this feature. the box is checked and activated for it, but there is no rain drops on the windows when it rains, any help would be appreciated.

Hello,
Have you contacted PMDG regarding the upgrade? There may need to be additional setup done for this aircraft when updating Prepar3D.
Regards,
Rob McCarthy

Re: missing rain drops on windshield when raining
Which default P3Dv4.3 aircraft should have rain drops on the VC glass windows using default P3Dv4.3 weather (rainy day)?

Re: missing rain drops on windshield when raining
I'd like to ask the same question as above, if anybody knows.
I'm currently using P3Dv4.3. However:
- initially I had installed P3Dv4.0 complete.
- then I updated only the client to the next versions.
- recently, I wanted to give a try to the new aircrafts in the 4.3 content, so I updated the content from 4.0 to 4.3.
- so right now, I have client 4.3, content 4.3, and scenery 4.0.
The problem is: the default Baron still has no rain drop effects on the windshield.
Is the Baron supposed to have them or not ?
The option is activated in the P3D graphic settings, and I chose the "grey and rainy" weather theme. I don't have any weather addon.

Hello Daube
Did you first Uninstall the v4 Content before you Installed the v4.3 Content ? This step is required to update.
The Topic below shows the list of aircraft with rain effects Included by default.
Also the last post resolved his Issue by deleting the Shaders folder and letting this folder generate again
Let us know how you get on

Re: missing rain drops on windshield when raining
Hi Poppet, thanks a lot for your reply. :)
I confirm I had uninstalled the 4.0 content prior to installing the 4.3 content.
Also, I have already regenerated the shaders (deletion and restart) several times since I installed the 4.3 content.
Do the rain effect depend on any graphic setting of the sim ?
Currently, my "special effects" sliders are both set to zero. I have set them to 100% for a test, but still no raindrops on the windshield.

Re: missing rain drops on windshield when raining
Works fine for me. Some of the other default aircraft have the effect as well, such as the Maule.
There is a checkbox in the settings under "Graphics/Weather" for "Windshield Effects". Make sure that's ticked.
Also check in the "Prepard3D v4/Scripts" folder, & see if there is a "PrecipWindshieldEffect.lua" file in there.

Re: missing rain drops on windshield when raining
I have the checkmark and the lua.
No rain on windshield.
Is the lua authored by LM?
I do not know anything about them .. never used them.

Hello Daube & Vaughan
Regarding the default Baron aircraft, The rain effects in the virtual cockpit are there alright, however they are not as apparent as the effects in the Beech King Air.
Just to confirm, Launch the default Baron, look to your left window, You should see the rain effect here ?
Scroll slightly towards the windshield, Can you see rain effect here ?

Re: missing rain drops on windshield when raining
Port side against the wing area looks like a few small faint shadows blinking on/off in the same spot. Forward and starboard views clear, no sign of anything.
Could you do a short video?

I see them (very faintly) only if I select "Virtual Cockpit Only".

Re: missing rain drops on windshield when raining
Sorry for the delay.
I have made a new test and looked more closely at the windshield.
The rain effect is here, indeed, but very faint. I can only see it when the clouds are in the background. I cannot spot them if I have darker background.
So, it seems the effet works, but is very very very transparent :)
Maybe it's linked to some settings in the NVidia Control Panel ?

Re: missing rain drops on windshield when raining
Are the ones you see slowly blinking On and Off in exactly the same spot?
Can you see them on the front window?
Starboard window?
