PBR materials and realistic lights

Post by XXXL »

Prepar3d will support PBR-materials?
In this time PBR is standart (WarThunder, DCS World (remastering all world to PBR: aircraft, ground objects, terrain), and now - Xplane.

P3D need:
- realistic reflections in real time (WarThunder),
- realistic lights and the shadow of the lights (IL-2 Sturmovik: https://youtu.be/yEztExdJYAQ?t=590 )
- Spectacular effects ( WT https://youtu.be/6XstlYg3Ow8?t=126)

Look PBR changes in WT:

This looks incredible. I wonder if parts of it can be licensed / incorporated into P3D.

Edit: check out the wave rendering:

Well there's definitely some work needed concerning lighting. Buildings at night are all lit all sides. Strange is the fact that shadows are moving in the night (due to the suns position - at the other side of earth) So buildings, night-map, should have some darkness over the walls of buildings. An unlit building at night can not be seen.
