Thrustmaster and VRS SuperBug

Post by Martyson »

Which Thrustmaster (Joystick and Throttle) is working well with P3Dv3.3.5 and now VRS FA18 SuperBug and TacPack?

"No problems using a Warthog here."

That is good news.

Is there more than one model of the Warthog ...

just so I will be searching / pricing for the right one?

As far as I know, there's only one type of Warthog, although you can buy it as a stick/throttle bundle or as separate items.
I don't use the "Target" software that comes with it, I assign all axies and buttons through FSUIPC.

Ok,
Thanks for the additional information.
Warthog stick/throttle bundle is what I will go see about ..
I use FSUIPC (registered) also ... so good to know there are no problems with Thrustmaster, P3Dv3.3.5, FSUIPC and VRS (for P3Dv3.3.5) /FA18E Superug / TacPack.

Is the default USB 2.0 or 3.0 for Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog Flight Stick - USB, Dual Throttles,?

How long are the USB cables on the throttle and Joystick units?

USB 2.0. I believe.
Cable length, not sure. Mines all tied in and buried away so I can't measure it easily.

My Cables are 1.9 meters long do you want that in inches?
Yes, the throttle is a dual engine control that can be locked together when flying aircraft with one engine.

Saul,

Thanks for the reply / answer.

I do not know metric well .. so I have this Electronic E6B next to my older E6B.

I use the CONV key (e.g., 1.9m = to 6.23 feet then x 12) on the E-E6B a'lot.

One follow up question ..
does it work (not have problems) on USB 3.0 or 3.1 ports (current, no USB 2.0 available [unused] on my system)?

Hi Vaughan,

Yes mine did work in USB3 slots that is until about a month ago and a thunderstorm troll broke the throttle component of my set so I can't test with the current version.

Saul,

Thanks for confirming USB3.0 is ok with The Warthog Thrustmaster..

" thunderstorm troll broke the throttle component of my set "

Darn ... is it in for warranty replacement ... ? mucho' denarro' (bad with Spanish also!)

I would think the bad storm would have blown the motherboard fuse on the USB port before the throttle would get hurt?

Hi Vaughan,

Yes, its a weird one. It's probably nothing to do with the thunder storm but it was a timely coincidence so I just made a joke of it. I've tested the unit on another computer and its the still busted.

At the moment I'm using my komodo Blade controllers for helicopters. Its just about usable for airplanes but its not ideal for that.
