AI Aircraft Carrier Ops in P3D v3

Post by drbaker »

When do the aircraft carriers depart and return at Honolulu, Norfolk, Seattle, San Fran, and San Diego in P3D v3? In P3D v2.5 I enjoyed taking off and landing on sailing aircraft carriers. Now, I can't determine their sailings. Thanks for the help. --Dave B.

AH, I see, no the times and routes are determined in a file called trafficCarriers.bgl located here D:\Prepar3D v3\Scenery\World\scenery, .bgl files are not easy to decompile so the best is to wait for someone at LM to come up with an answer, in the mean time (LOOOONG...) you can download AICarriers.net and that will allow you to set and start a carrier of your choice at a place of your choice and static or moving and (play) practise to your hearts content...

Jorge

We have used it in MP also...

PS the file looks very much the same as the V25 so have you tried the same times/routes...

Hi Jorge,

Thanks for telling us about this. I'm still using the older AI Carriers that needs Java and didn't realise this version uses .net4
Just grabbed a copy of this version as its the easiest way to get to grips with a carrier using this utility.

Thankyou Ron, it works in V3 single player , the fix you provided in the link is to make it work in MP, which I have used very succesfuly with some mates , it syncs the boat OK and we had no problems at all... today we flu the DODO in v2.5 in shared cockpit , the three of us in the same AC!!!!

Great fun... lots of sick bags though!!!

Total newbe here. Is there a write up somewhere of how you fly from a carrier. I look on the airport page and could not find one. Can it be set up with the scenario menu or do you have to have the ai carrier.net?

Thanks

Hi Jorge

I have been reading a lot about carriers but not much on P3D V3. Have you been able to get the RFN Gauge to work with V3.1?

Thanks
