Persisting Selection of a VG on a Multichannel Client

After definition of a working multi-channel setup with three clients, I'm forced to select the client-specific viewgroup each time I start my simulator up. If I modify anything on the server VG definition, including a change to just a server view, all three clients revert to 'no viewgroup selected' and I have to physically make the VG selection again on each client.

Is there any way to 'lock' the VG selection for a client?
