Installation

Post by Hardy6 »

Why do I keep getting the message, P3D.EXE has stopped working, a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. The sim won't start up.
I'm using W10, no antivirus, P3D is dedicated the the SSD, no addon's. What's happening. It was working great last week.

As mentioned in many other threads, roll back your nVidia driver one version.

If you experience problems after that, then please post back here.

I rolled back windows to a earlier date, still didn't help. So I've done a fresh install, didn't help. Something is blocking the sim program from working.

Can you look in Windows Event Viewer, under Windows Logs/Application - is there and "Error" message at the time of the crash?

If so, copy and post its contents here.

Also, your system specs would be nice.

My system never crashed. I have intel i74gig ASUS MB 32gig's ram/2400 MHZ, 2060 RTX 6gig video card, 1200 wat pw, corsair water cooler. W10.
The program loads fine. The sim show up were you would click start and the error message pops up and end's the sim. Do I need the hot fix? When I purchase, My license key is for v5.1. I never did purchase v5.

If you just downloaded it, then you have the hotfix - it is in the download.

And it does not seem to be a hardware problem either - what precisely is your CPU?

When you installed, did you then:

1. Right-click on the installer and select Run as administrator?, and

2. Did you install to the default location, or to somewhere else?

I build my pc's. This pc is 8 years old. It's running 202 on the primary DDS just fine. This is a first in year's with this problem. I'm trying to figure out how to copy what you need from window viewer event. I may need help with that. There is a lot of error messages in there. The only SSD drive that is a problem is this one. The SSD for 2020 works fine. The third SSD is just used for RC planes, works fine. I think I'm going to just reformat this drive.
