P3DV5 HF2 random CTD after sim loading

Post by Damien »

Hi,

I experience some CTD with my P3DV5, mostly after sim loading : P3DV5 is loading to 100%, I get a black screen, I can hear the sound of the aircraft for a few seconds, then I can see the mouse pointer with a circle then I get back to Windows 10 desktop.

Sometimes, I can load the sim 4-5 times without CTD and the 6th loading, I get a CTD with the same aircraft and at the same airport. I get CTD everywhere in France in P3DV5.

I also experienced CTD when selecting the aircraft ; there was a black screen instead of the default aircraft.

Last week, I did a fresh reinstallation of Windows 10 Pro 19041. I reinstalled P3DV5 without any add-on and I began to get CTD. I deleted shaders folder and Prepard3d.cfg file. I reinstalled one more time P3DV5, nvidia latest drivers, same problem ...

i9-9900K 3,60GHz
32 Go DDR4 2666MHz
GeForce GTX 1070 ti 8GB

I also fly with P3DV4.5 without any CTD or problem.

Any help ? Thank you.

Regards,

Damien.

Damien, there could be several things that could solve this.

First of all, is Windows 10 version 2004 available in French? If so, I would urge you to update to that version, as it contains fixes to DX12.

Second, only a few minutes ago nVidia notified me that a new nVidia driver version is available. That update might also be useful.

And third - and most complicated - nVidia does not sell their graphics cards directly, but through what is called OEM vendors, such as ASUS, MSI and others. Some of these OEM vendors overclock the cards they sell slightly, and in other threads I have seen that ending that overclocking fixes the problem.

Hi Jorgen,

Thank you for your answer.

It seems that my Windows 10 version is the latest, 2004.

I’ll see for new nvidia drivers.

Regards.
