Moving from P3D v4 to P3D v4.1 - What do I do?

Post by #Lotus7 »

Currently I am on P3D v4 & quite happy there, except a couple of recently released aircraft that I wish to fly have come out in P3D v4.1 only.
I have also picked up from their forums that I am less likely to have issues if I do a 'full' install of 4.1, ilo just the 'Client'.
So I'm making the move - are there any guides on how to do a Full install of P3D v4.1 from P3D v4?
Thanks

I'll clarify the request - Do I do anything different to the steps outlined in Poppet's Guide of June 8, 2017, "Downloading & Installing P3D"?

Hello #Lotus7

If you just wish to update Prepar3D from v4 to v4.1 you can simply update the Client.

Just to add here, The the v4.1 Content update does bring "Added rain effect to cockpit glass in default vehicles"

The v4.1 Scenery update has "Removed invisible objects that could cause vehicle to crash at KBWI"

These are just 2 updates you may or may not require.

---------------------

If you wish to complete the full update to Prepar3D v4.1, You have 2 Options..........

1) Update all 3 component Installers by following This guide

2) Or you can complete a full Uninstall of Prepar3D v4 and then Reinstall again

Let us know how you get on
