Hi,
The last few times I have uninstalled P3D and re-installed, as I like to do the complete and fresh install, I have noticed that in my Control Panel - Programs and Features, that it no longer shows the Client for P3D. It shows 3 entries but no Client.
What did I do wrong?
Thanks,
Larry
[RESOLVED] Prepar3D v3 Client not showing up in Control Panel
Re: Client not showing up.
Hello Larry
Does Prepar3D Launch ok ?
Can you see These 3 Entries in your Control Panel ?
----------------
Have you tried to Install\Repair the Client ?
Note: Insure you add the Prepar3D Download folder to your Exclusions Zone of your Antivirus Software
Right Click on Install_Client.msi Click Install\Repair
You can Confirm if this was successful by Launching Prepar3D v3, Click "Help" > "About Lockheed Martin"
You will then see what version of Prepar3D v3 you have Installed

Re: Client not showing up.
Hi,
Thanks for responding.
Yes, I have the 3 entries in the Control Panel: Prepar3D Content
Prepar3D Professional
Prepar3D Scenery
Yes, P3D starts normal.
I don't have an anti-virus program on my flight sim computer.
Yes, I have tried Install\Repair the Client.msi
P3D is the latest and up to date verified by the "About Lockheed Martin".
P3d works fine, I just expected to see the Client in the Control Panel. I thought it may have been something I did when un-installing P3D the last time.
Thanks,
Larry

Re: Client not showing up.
Hello Larry,
If Prepar3D v3 is Launching and operating Ok this means you have all the necessary Entries and paths needed.
But, Yes you should see a "Prepar3D v3 Academic\Professional Client" in your Control Panel.
The ProductName for Prepar3D v3 is possibly missing from your Registry Editor hence why you can not see this in your Control panel.
If the "ProductName" is missing from the "Value data" Even though you have a working Prepar3D v3, The Client Entry will become Invisible in your Control Panel
Try the following steps.........
Enter your Registry Editor as administrator, Navigate to the below Location
--------
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT ► Installer ► Products ► 421DC312886DD634B98DFF5BD68C03EB
--------
Click on the above blue Key, You will see maybe 12 Entries on the right side
Look at "ProductName" ? In your case It should read Prepar3D v3 Professional Client
If this is Blank, Right Click on "ProductName" Click Modify Enter the above Entry into Value data
Click Ok, X out of the Registry Editor, Restart your Computer, Open your Control Panel and confirm if successful

[RESOLVED] Re: Client not showing up.
Hi Poppet
I guess the Client is there, it just doesn't say it in the Control Panel. Mystery solved and this topic is resolved.
Thanks,
Larry
