Hello Thierry,
Just to confirm........
* You did Uninstall Prepar3D v3 First before you tried to run the new Installer Yes ? (Important)
Did you Disable your Anti Virus Software Before you ran the Setup_Prepar3D.exe Installer ?
========
Maybe Install the Component Installers Individually, This is the same as a full Install
Insure you Disable your Anti Virus Software
In this Order (Important)
I) Right Click on Install_Client.msi Click Install
II) Right Click on Install_Content.msi Click Install
III) Right Click on Install_Scenery.msi Click Install
Restart your computer

Hello Howard,
Read this as it may help your situation, http://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic ... 26#p154140
But in addition to this Please Insure the following before you run the Prepar3D Installer again........
* Your Windows Operating System is up to Date.
* You Disable your Anti Virus Software, And you Disable UAC User Account Control, Click down to Never Notify
* You disable any Background Process like, Team_Viewer, Evga Precision, MSI After burner and so on in your Task Manager
Then Install the Component Installers Individually, The is the same as a full Install
Please see this Video below, Its a quick video of me Installing Prear3D v3, No sound watch in full screen. I Extract the Zipped folder and then Install the Component Installers Individually, I then take a look at my Control Panel and also my Install folder to see the end result.
Ignore the end bit of the video, this was for another User

Re: 0Xfffffff7 error on DirectX part install
Elaine,
Thank you for your help. In the end it looked like I didn't have Microsoft's .NET Framework installed (for some strange reason). My 3.2 version went corrupt and I couldn't recover so I felt there was no better time to switch to 3.4. The painful part to come is installing scenery, weather, utilities, aircraft, re-calibrations, etc. I'm guessing that there isn't a way to 'migrate' from one dot version to a another, correct?
Best regards,
Howard

Hello Howard,
Yes, You can Update Prepar3D v3 from one Version to another using the Component Update Installers
Remember, Client is the Primary Update that will Update Prepar3D v3 to a more recent version, Content and Scenery are an Optional update
See here: http://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic ... 2&t=120861
