Ensure Nav Database is up to date
Ensure Nav Database is up to date
It is hopelessly outdated, making P3D for training purpose more and more irrelevant.
Re: Ensure Nav Database is up to date
For simulators, a real world up-to=date Nav Database is not needed for training and as the Airac changes on a monthly basis its impractical and uneconomical to keep it up-to-date. Its also not a centralized database so as soon as most addon airports or aircraft are installed they install their own Navdata which causes a mixed-up scenario of numerous Airac's being used at any one time.
There have been many discussions on this in the past. Basically for training purposes an up-to-date Nav Database is not necessary. What is present is more than enough to teach someone how to use it and Navigate.
Therefore, its only a few enthusiasts that want to recreate a up-to-date real world simulation with a complete world recreation. Mostly, you can bring the sim up-to-date yourself but with the addons creating conflicts and anomalies its makes it very difficult at times.
In order to grant this request would need to total reprogramming of the core and render all scenery and aircraft with Navdata incompatible. I can only imagine the community backlash which would surely happen.
