Hi guys i thought i might bring you all up to date with my latest information on the amd 6100 bulldozer.

i decided to take the plunge and swap motherboard and cpu for an intel i7 2700k.

My new sytem is now as follows

intel i7 2700k

4 gig RAM (Kingston PC1600...i didnt even bother putting the second 4 gig chip in)

P67A UD5 motherboard (by Gigabyte)

Windows 7x64 bit

PSU Cooler master 700 Watt

2 monitors (1x23" LG, 1x24" LG)

Old system

AMD FX 6100 Buldozer (overclocked at 4.3 ghz)

8 GIg RAM (Kingston PC1600)

990 FXA UD3 ( by Gigabyte)

Windows 7x 32 bit, x64 bit, & Windows 8 (yep i was so desperate i tried em all)

PSU cooler master 700 Watt

2 Monitors (1x23" LG 1920x1080, 1x24" LG 1920x1200)

The intel results are quite impressive...

With both monitors displaying virtual cockpits set in full screen mode displaying front and left side views...

AMD bulldozer overclocked to 4.3 ghz, fsx settings all at medium high, producing fps of between 20-30 on the ground with cessna caravan at Sydeny international airport.

intel i7 2700k set at stock standard out of the box speed of 3.6 ghz, all settings on ultra high (thats right all settings maxed out!!!), runinning only service pack 1, no acceleration pack or service pack 2, no tweeking whatsover...20-30fps.

I am thinking that its performance increase is well worth the changover and i would reccomend to anyone who has a bulldozer processor to simply throw it aside and get an intel one! I am going to try overclocking the intel processor to 4.3 ghz just to see what happens but to be honest i dont see the point. it is so impressive at stock speeds i am delighted!!!
